Monthly Wrap Up- October

Hi hello and Welcome! October felt like such a long month looking back at it, but I didn’t end up reading much anyways lol. ALSO I got a goodreads account!! (finally hahaha) Well there’s nothing else interesting that happened this month so lets get onto the books

  1. Paper Towns by John Green

Rating-✨✨✨✨

I was totally not expecting to enjoy this one but I was IMPRESED. I stayed up all night to finish it and I adored all of the characters so much! The plot wasn’t really that great but hey the other aspects of the book totally made up for it. The road trip part of this story was my absolute favourite thing ever and I felt like this was kind of similar to turtles all the way down? OH AND THE MAIN CHARACTER WAS AWESOME. GO QUENTIN 😀

2.Bone Gap by Laura Ruby

A fantastic read, it was just so magical and mystical and I loved the ending! You can read more of my thoughts about it here.

3.Ruin and rising by Leigh Bardugo

Amazon.com: Ruin and Rising (The Shadow and Bone Trilogy Book 3) eBook : Bardugo, Leigh: Kindle Store

rating-✨✨✨✨

THIS WAS HANDS DOWN THE BEST BOOK IN THE SERIES. After reading Siege and Storm I felt kind of underwhelmed…? I don’t know , I just did not have high hopes for this one at all but wow i was BLOWN AWAY. The characters interactions in this one just made it so much better, maybe that was what was lacking in the previous books. Also that ending was pretty satisfactory. The reason why I gave this four stars though was because the beginning was pretty slow but other than that it was perfection.

4. The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson

rating-✨✨✨✨✨

This may be my favourite Morgan Matson book of all time. Andie and her friend group were so fun and chaotic, they sort of remind me of the popular kids though hahah. The plot was perfectly paced and I really enjoyed seeing the ups and downs of Andie’s life. And also the friend group drama was fun to read about(maybe I am really evil). Overall a 5 star read for sure

5.The Outsiders by S.E Hinton

The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton

rating-✨✨✨✨✨

This has been on my radar for a while and I’m really glad I picked it up. It’s definitely more of a classic read so I was pretty reluctant starting this but I WAS HOOKED! S.E Hinton’s style of writing is really easy to follow and the fact that she wrote this at 16 just astounds me! Ponyboy was such an amazing main character, and the rest of his gang were also so great to read about. Also that ending was heartbreaking. This may be one of my favourite reads of the year!

6. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

rating-✨✨✨✨

*deep breath* I’ve done it. I’ve actually done it. I READ A CASSANDRA CLARE BOOK AND *ANOTHER DEEP BREATH* I ACTUALLY REALLY ENJOYED IT. never expected to be here won’t lie. But yeah wow, I loved the shadowhunter world, it was so brilliantly crafted and I can’t wait to read about it more in the later books,. I immensely disliked Clary and Jace though, they were just so whiny ughhhh. But I can’t wait to get to the next book in the series! I’m planning to do a full series review for the mortal instruments so let’s see how well that goes.

7.Between shades of gray by Ruta Sepetys

THIS WAS AMAZING. I loved it so so so muchhh ahhhh. It was so gripping and I actually really like our main character. I have so many thoughts about this book, I’ll definitely write a review for it soon!

Okay that’s all I read for this month I think! I didn’t read too much but I enjoyed every book I read so that’s a good thing. anyways hope you enjoyed reading this and let me know your thoughts in the comments!

  1. Okay. A classic that hooked you??? NOW I NEED to READ IT!!! Glad to see you enjoyed all the books you read, and ahh, 7 books is a really good number okay? (I read like 3 in the entire month, but we shall conveniently proceed to ignore that). I’ve only read one book by Morgan Matson and that’s Since you’ve been gone, and it was pretty good, so definitely adding The Unfortunate Everything to my TBR! Great post, Suhani, and hope you have an amazing November!!!

  2. Ah, I’m not the biggest fan of Paper Towns, tbh, but I am glad you enjoyed it!
The Unexpected Everything and Between Shades of Grey are on my TBR, so I am happy to see positive reviews of both the books.
Also, I brought the shadow of bone trilogy back in April, and I still haven’t gotten round to reading them lol
    Amazing wrap-up!

  3. Ah, yes, The Unexpected Everything is totally the best Morgan Matson book! 🥰 I mean, it has a writer as a love interest. And a scavenger hunt. And dogs! 🤩
And I really need to read more Ruta Sepetys! So far, I’ve only read Salt to the Sea, but I have yet to hear a bad thing about a single book of hers…
